Voting & Elections
We’ve compiled everything you need to know about upcoming elections and voting in one spot. Visit vote.pa.gov for general information.
Visit the PA voter services portal or call 1-877-VOTESPA to register to vote.
You are qualified to vote if you are:
- A US citizen 30 days before Election Day.
- A resident of PA who has lived in your election district at least 30 days before Election Day.
- At least 18 years of age on Election Day.
Warning: If your address or name has changed, you may need to register to vote again! Check your registration status here.
Can you vote after being convicted of a crime? In many cases, YES! In Pennsylvania, no one loses the right to vote for misdemeanors or any other convictions other than felonies. If you are incarcerated but have not been convicted of a felony, you are still eligible to vote. That’s true even if you have been charged with a felony. Click here to learn more.
Mail-In & Absentee Ballots
Click here to learn more about and request mail-in and absentee ballots.
What’s the difference between mail-in and absentee ballots? Mail-in ballots can be requested by ANY voter without giving a reason. Absentee ballots are for voters who cannot physically make it to their polling place on election day, often due to travel or a disability. A reason must be given.
On Election Day
Unsure of where to vote? Click here to access PA Voter Services’ polling place finder.
Polling locations will be open from 7 am – 8 pm. Note that if you are in line to vote at 8 pm, you cannot be turned away.
Warning: If you are voting for the first time at a polling place, you must show a valid ID that includes your name and address and is not expired.
If you encounter any problems at your polling place, call the State Voter Hotline: 1-877-868-3772.
